Recently I had been studying on something the Lord shared with me about “Keys to receiving the blessing.” During the course of that study, I was once again reminded of the importance of maintaining a spirit and lifestyle of praise. The scripture reference in Judges 5:11 came to mind, “they are delivered from the noise of the archers in the places of drawing of water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the Lord.” I have noticed this, that when we can get away from the noise and the distractions of life, the divisions made by various mental and emotional battles, and simply allow God to lead us beside still waters, where we can recount and remember all His righteous acts, that praise comes easy.
With the praise comes instructions for the battle (which is not ours, but His) peace of mind knowing that God will fight for us, and knowing that God has always acted righteously in our case and will continue to do so. God has promised He would never leave us nor forsake us, so by learning to refuse to consider circumstances, and simply allow ourselves to meet with Him in fellowship and communion, especially around His word, that God will work everything out for our good. There is no benefit in complaining about the circumstance or charging God with unrighteousness. God is the author of every good and perfect gift, and so when trouble comes, God is always there to direct our footsteps into paths of victory. Praise still silences the enemy!
